When you see that dreaded Windows registry error appear on your screen over and over, you're probably thinking that any program or registry cleaner that will get your computer back up and running is all you need.
In fact, most people will do a quick search for Windows registry repair, download the first program they find, and think all of their registry issues are solved. While that program may in fact fix the problem, it might not be the best registry tool out there.
Most basic Windows users don't know much about the Windows registry or how to go about fixing it. In this article, I'll discuss some of your options for not only registry cleaning and repair but also registry maintenance and things you can do to keep your computer running at its best.
RegCure is a very easy to use Windows registry repair tool. RegCure is designed for the novice computer user. The download and initial scan are free, and RegCure will repair all your registry problems when you register for the full version. Also, RegCure is the cheapest Windows registry utility out there, so you get the most bang for your buck.
RegistryEasy:
Registry Easy is another popular registry cleaning program, and it works fairly well. It's designed for users who don't have a lot of computer knowledge. All you have to do is download it, click scan, and Registry Easy takes care of everything. However, while the Registry Easy scan is free, you have to buy the registered version to get access to some features and to actually repair your system.
System Mechanic:
If you are looking for a very, very powerful windows registry repair program, you can check out System Mechanic. This program not only will scan and fix registry problems, but it will also clean your system's cache, optimize your internet browser, defragment your hard drive, and generally keep your PC running at its best. System Mechanic is also one of the programs that you have to purchase, but you can download a limited trial version of it before you shell out any cash.
Other Programs:
You might also take a look at some firewalls and malware programs to see if they offer registry protection. Spybot, a popular and powerful spyware detection and removal tool, and Comodo firewall both alert you when files attempt to change the Windows registry. This lets you see what's happening to your registry and gives you the chance to block strange changes.
In addition to these programs, there are other Windows registry utilities and repair tools out there. Here are some things to look for when selecting registry programs:
*Do you have to buy a licensed version to repair errors?
*Does the program scan for ALL types of Windows registry problems?
*Does the program provide other registry utilities, like a registry compactor?
*Does the program create a registry backup?
